If Music lovers who will be at The Third
Rail Saturday close their eyes, they will think
AC/DC is on stage.
Ballbreaker, a tribute band to the famous
AC/DC, will be at the 1 South Avenue Facility
from 10pm to 2am.
"I guess we are a tribute band," said bass
player Jerry Harkins, "But we don't look like
AC/DC. We do sound like them though. If you turn
your back (to the stage) you would swear AC/DC
were playing."
The Rochester-based group has played at The
Third Rail numerous times. "We love Cortland,"
Harkins said in a telephone interview, "We've
always had a good crowd." They also like the
support The Third Rail and Bill Delaire gives
them. "Bill and his crew do a fantastic sound
job," he said.
Other members of the group are lead singer
Ed Spock, guitarist Mark Stevens, drummer Todd
Tracy, and guitarist Steve Felerski. Harkins
said the lead singer's voice sounds just like
AC/DC singer Brian Johnson.
"We say when it comes to a point when the
voice goes, the band will die," Harkins said.
"We have a blast on stage," he said, adding
there is a "high energy" to their performance.
He also used the word "bizarre." The guitarist
will come off stage and wander through the
audience. Harkins will wear a devils mask and
there is some spitting of blood.
Harkins said he is definately exhausted
after a high-energy, four hour performance. "We
put our all into it," he said. |
