VOLTAGE OVERLOAD - A TRIBUTE TO AC/DC
Shark Bite Records
By Nicky
Baldrian - www.aordreamzones.com
It;s tribute
time again, and this time AC/DC get the treatment from ten
>bands who
cover classic AC/DC songs from 'Bakc In Black', 'Highway To
Hell'
to 'Livewire',
'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' and 'Heatseeker'.
As always songs
of this nature never match the originals, and why should
they? It still
fun to hear these renditions which are performed by bands
such as
Ballbreaker, Robert Valdes and actual AC/DC tribute bands
like
Whole Lotta
Rosies, Live/Wire, High Voltage, Hells/Bells etc..
I enjoyed Whole
Lotta Rosies as they are a female band and it was fun to
hear female
vocals on 'Back In Black' and Dyna Shirasaki is one hell of
a
singer and I
would like to find out if this band have an original band. I
was also
suprised to see that Kelly Hansen produced this song, so I
will
try and get in
touch with them to find out more, Dyna is amazing.
Live/Wire's
version of 'Heatseeker' is also good and features Eddie
Clark.
Ballbreaker I
have been following for a few years since I heard their very
AC/DCish debut,
and as always they deliver the good with a fine live
version of 'Let
Me Put My Love Into You'
Would also like
to find out if OC/DC have any original material because
their version
of 'Highway To Hell' was pretty good because of singers
Steve
Smith's
fantastic voice. Another artist I have been following for
most of
this year is
Robert Valdes and he does a good version of 'What Do You Do
For Money
Honey'.
A neat little
tribute for the AC/DC die-hards, but why no 'Thunderstrcuk'
guys? Any how
worth getting for Dyna Shirasaki alone who steals the show.
